I bought this to store coffee beans. When you're spending good money on high-quality, freshly roasted beans, you need to be smart about storage. Sometimes toast bags are difficult to open and reseal, let alone stick a shovel in the hole. Problem solved with this smart canister. The hole is nice and wide, making it easy to scoop out the grains you want. The inner lid lowers as far as necessary to the surface of the content volume. Air is squeezed out when you push down, and then you seal it by lowering the handle. To open, do the reverse. Upper transparent lid with seal. Very cool, even funny, to open and close. Using a container keeps air and light away from your coffee beans. I'm sure it would be nice for storage and other things but I just bought it for my coffee.
