This device should be used at home or maybe in the car for emergencies. It comes pre-charged and puts out a decent amount of light, and you can turn it on for more power when you need it. Radio is ok - takes a while to tune into station and audio is quite tinny - wouldn't listen to it regularly but should be ok if you need to check the weather (and there is a weather section). Finally, it has a fairly loud siren, which you activate with a press of a button to also turn on the flashing light - I suppose that might come in handy for backpacking. The radio is fairly small (pictured well here) and weighs about 10 ounces. It has an output that can be used to charge a phone, although I haven't tried it. Nice feature at a reasonable price.
