Very nice butter dish - love the aesthetic. The top is bamboo and the bottom is white ceramic as seen in the photos. It's fairly easy to clean - the o-ring is easy to remove so it's easy to wash. The only downside to this cookware is that I damaged the bottom of my cookware when I used a butter knife to scoop the butter out of the bowl. The sign is not a gray scuff (they can be washed off with baking soda), but a scratch on the glaze. As I usually scoop butter out of a butter dish with a butter knife, I have a hard time liking this item as it is too delicate for my butter dish to use.
