Yes, it's a small trash can, but honestly, I want a small trash can in my car. It won't hold litter for weeks, but it's great for long trips to throw away packaging, small bottles, etc. If you throw bottles at it I reckon it will fill up after about 3 bottles but honestly speaking of that I just prefer to keep them in my cup holders and dispose of them when I stop for refueling or on a break. It appears to be well made and the liner should be easy to clean. So if you're looking for a bin to store your junk in for months, this isn't for you. If you're just looking for a small bin that doesn't get in the way and is easy to dispose of, then this is the one for you.
