Review on ๐ŸŽฎ ASTRO Gaming A20 Wireless Headset: Xbox One, PC & Mac โ€“ Black/Green | Ultimate Gaming Audio Experience by Andre Stephens

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Premium sound, fit and comfort, adaptability and durability based on past use at an affordable price. Period.

I really like this headset. This is very handy for hours of gaming, e.g. B. 6 at once! The sound is fantastic. As this is a new a20 model I would compare them sonically to the old a50 models (the ones from about 5 years ago but without true surround sound). The lack of surround sound isn't a problem, as it supports Dolby Atmos, which simulates surround sound. This is called "virtual surround sound". I have a set of old Astro A50s with 7.1 and I can tell you that you can still hear baddies approaching you from behind or a bullet whizzing through the barley that missed your head. (you know the sound) wow! Either way, if you want to get them, get Dolby Atmos. It's free for the first month with no credit card required. Then a ONE TIME payment of 14.95. Other than that, it will simply be the VERY BEST pair of stereo headphones you have. Sorry, I didn't mean to turn this into a Dolby ad. There is also another free option to simulate surround sound in Windows Sonic. Everyone should have access to it since it's an Xbox headset. This is a decent option. In terms of sound, the Astro is second to none, until Bose makes a true gaming headset, it's as good as it gets. Some people complain that they are not loud enough. Let me tell you, this is simply not true, or your body will pay you dividends for yelling "Come in sandman" too loud as a kid. Lickley, although you're not my advanced age, and even if you are, they're a lot loud. The fact is that there is software for this and all other Astro headsets called the Astro Command Center. This software is pretty self-explanatory in its layout. There are equalizer settings, microphone settings. The equalizer settings are great and easy. 5 frequency bands if required and adjustable by a few decibels. cn? It will then be saved in your personal settings and synced to the headset in about 5 seconds. Or you can choose one of Astro's high-quality products. OR. You can download many presets created by other Astro owners. Many of these are tailored specifically to the game you'll be playing, also taking into account whether you're using standard stereo, Windows Sonic, or Dolby Atmos. What you don't get with them is a baseline to blow out your eardrums. If that's what you're looking for, buy Beats by Dre. (That's just fantastic for music, but not for games). In any case, connect the receiver module to your computer, tablet, or laptop with a USB cable, and then toggle the switch on the back from Xbox to computer. Then connect your headset using a USB cable (the firmware for your headset will be installed automatically at this step), the software will automatically detect your specific headset. At this point, either select a factory preset, create your own (recommended), or find one you like online. At this point you can sync with your headset and do something else. You can also customize your microphone (from now on, microphone for short). On the Microphone tab you have different Gate settings. Think of the settings as a gate that shuts out unwanted noise, hence the "gate". There are several to choose from with varying levels of background noise reduction. There's also your microphone level to adjust the volume of your voice that other people hear. Finally, there is the side effect level, which determines how loud YOU hear your voice while playing. After setting everything you want, like the equalizer and microphone, just click on the Sync tab and you're done. This is just an over-description of the Astro Command Center, as the software and headset are designed to work in harmony and to provide a more descriptive view of what you're getting. In terms of strength and durability, let me tell you that I still have a set of very old Astro A50s that I bought in 2013. They've earned 5 stars a hundred times over with at least 10,000 hours of use (no joke at all) and still sound the same as the day I bought them. So you get a lot for your money with these A20s. I think I should say that too as I've owned a couple of Turtlebeach headsets as well. These A20s outperform everything they have out of the water except for the Elite 800 series. At the moment it's the A40 and A50 against the Elite 800 as that's the next tier. I'm not an Astro fan, I love my Turtlebeach Elite 800x mic for other reasons. Well in the end I hope you got an over the top review, that's what I intended. Be as descriptive and helpful as possible. In my opinion, at this price point, the A20 beats any competitor I can think of. The Shocks are far superior to more expensive models from other brands in their class in terms of sound quality, fit and comfort, adaptability and durability. If you got this far in the review, thanks for reading my mind. Now stop thinking and buy these things right now, like now. No money? Deposit your expensive sound system, you don't need it anymore.
