This table is awesome! I removed the star because it's a bit small and the legs fall off easily. SO I see a smaller surface area with smaller components as a way to improve motor skills. And love to think of the detachable legs as an added bonus as our daughter sometimes plays with her own legs - it's two games in one! I will say that. Every morning she plays music through a drum, mirror or "book" and dances to it. There's easy listening for Mom on the table, upbeat versions of traditional songs like Old McDonald, Mary Had a Lamb and The Ants Are Marching, etc. I took her with me Bought 9 months ago and now she is 13+. . The areas of the table she explores/focuses on have changed and changed as her own interests and motor skills develop. Overall this table won't win any awards but for the price it's a GREAT VALUE!
