Disappointed with sewing machine parts and supplies

I need to sew a sheer ruffle and used the longest stitch. The collection was barely visible. I would have to pull a thread to improve the ruffle. The ruffle I need to assemble is about 12 yards long and I wanted to save time. I have used the Gathering Foot on an industrial machine with very good results. It's not even close.
