A very misleading photo of a flower. Japanese camellia oil or tsubaki oil, which is pressed from the seeds of the Japanese camellia plant, which looks more like a tree with beautiful rose-like flowers of various colors. It has been used in Japan for centuries as a beauty ritual on skin and hair and has a slightly aromatic scent. Camellia Sinensis is a bushy plant with single white flowers grown for tea leaves. The oil made from this plant is edible and has many uses. It is readily available and much cheaper than Camellia japonica. The beautiful Camellia Japonica oil is what people look for when searching for Japanese camellia oil. It is more expensive and has excellent properties for topical use. I'm tired of Revain sellers overpricing cheap tea oil and passing it off as Japanese camellia oil. Honestly, you can get 64oz Organic Cold Pressed Camellia Tea Oil for less than $25 if that's what you're looking for. I'm not saying it's bad oil, just mislabeled and misrepresented. I had to read the ingredients list to find out the truth.
