Review on Primeswift 4040 B2017-S85 Water Solenoid Valve for Aprilaire Blue Humidifier - 24V, 2.3W - Replaces 400, 500, 600, 700, 400A, B2015-S85 by Terrell Ciula

I removed the old servo/water valve and just installed this. I turned on the stove and got water right away, but too much water, water was flowing everywhere. I noticed my old valve had a hole on the outlet side, but this valve didn't have one, and the valve was delivering too much water and water was dripping from the bottom of the humidifier. I fished a hole out of the old valve with needle nose pliers, cleaned the hole in it with a welding tip cleaner, and then found that it actually went into the plastic tubing that runs from the water valve to the humidifier, not the valve. . When I pulled the valve out the hole came with it and I had to fish the valve out of the waste bin to get the hole. I put it back in the pipeline, connected the hose to the valve and the humidifier worked like new. DO NOT throw away the old valve without removing the hole on the outlet side of the valve if it has been pulled out of the water line and is stuck in the valve. You will have more water in your humidifier than you can handle as it only takes a trickle. Aside from that minor issue, this water valve worked just like the original but at a much lower price. live and learn
