I had purchased this bookcase because it was exactly what I needed for my office. It's lovely, and, in my opinion, worth the price.However, whether it is intentional or a manufacturing error, the holes provided in the metal frame to attach stability bars -- you can see them pictured on the far sides of the case -- were far, far too small. The amount of hand strength needed to screw metal screws into tiny metal holes is absolutely ridiculous. I know because I gave it several tries and could not get a single screw in.Since this is almost the last step in the process, I was extremely annoyed at the idea of having to take it all apart and send it back. So, I brought out my power drill to change the sizes of the holes (up 2 or so sizes) to actually be able to use the stabilization bars. Afterward, the screws fit securely.I believe the holes pre-drilled into the shelves are too small as well. You'll need a decent amount of strength to hand screw them in, but this is actually doable unlike trying to screwp metal into a metal frame.Overall, though, I would recommend this bookcase, but not to anyone who does not have tools to make changes to it if needed.
