I used the earlier model on the Dell Latitude 800 series for years, but had to switch when I finally switched to the Latitude 6000 series (I heard Windows XP is a dead end, so...). This one does the job and when it arrived it appeared new in the box so the price was a definite plus. It has a smaller platform than older models, which was a bit of a concern at first, but it fits what I need (a scanner, not a monitor) and the smaller platform makes it easier to dock and undock. Subjectively, the build quality doesn't feel as solid as the old one, but I don't think that will be an issue. Check back in five years or so.
