The holes in the perforated lid are too small for mashed red peppers

This looks like a classic pepper shaker you might find in a pizzeria but the holes in the perforated lid are too small for most mashed ones You can find red peppers in the grocery store. You'll end up with just paprika dust and a few flakes that are slightly smaller. Most of the crushed peppers remain in the jar. Holes are probably fine for some finely ground spices, but not your regular mashed red peppers.
