I purchased this knowing that based on numerous user reviews there could be a potential issue with the bottom plate linkage design. However, this was the only box that met my color and size requirements, so I decided to give it a try. I found the negative reviews about the horrible bottom bar design to be true. The protrusions do not properly secure the bottom panel to the side panels, causing the bottom of the deck box to fall out when lifted, especially if there is any weight in the box. My solution was to "weld" the tabs on the bottom panel to the holes in the side panels with a small soldering iron. This is a very simple process of fusing the parts together. The result is a very stable connection and a deck box that perfectly suits my needs. He had already had a downpour (partly under the eaves) and was dry to the bone inside. I recommend this box to anyone willing to make this mod. Otherwise, I suggest you look elsewhere for a better designed product.
