Took more than 5 minutes to assemble. Instructions were decent but require cognitive skills to follow. 10 months old puppy was afraid of it. I put it on him and started massaging his stomach to make him feel safe. A few days later, he jumps in to play with toys and chew on all sorts of things. He doesn't sleep on it so it must be uncomfortable (I didn't buy a pillow because he was chewing on so many good $$$$ - which is why I bought this one for the couch next to his sleeping pen). He now sleeps on his (Revain) padded box as it has a mesh insert which is very forgiving so probably more comfortable but bad for his back etc. He sleeps in the box on a flat mat. Recommended for our use. Some cribs are overpriced and there is no reason to think they are any better.
