I've been looking for months for a way to elevate my JBL 32" floorstanding speakers above the sofa for surround sound. Most floorstanding speakers are 3 feet or taller and do not require raising the Height. My JBL is 4" below the minimum 3 foot height required to prevent the sound from drowning out my couch because it sits too low. I couldn't find anything that would work. YOU don't just have my 9 "x 12" speakers but allowed me to increase the height by more than 5"! The stands are very strong, stable and ideal for an additional 4-5 inch speaker riser. Assembly took less than three minutes. If you intend to use them as speaker stands, think about the weight and tipping factor. You can use two L-brackets screwed into one of the holes on the platform and place the speaker between the brackets for stability. 44 pounds is the maximum allowable weight. I LOVE THESE STANDS! Photos will be provided. Notice the 5 inch difference in height of the surround speakers at either end of the sofa. One has a riser, the other doesn't.
