Bought these for using on outside trees for holiday decoration. So far they work fine but there is one hitch. The spool of lights comes with the solar panel end of the light string wound first on the spool and the final end, 72 feet out, on the outside of the spool. This means that if you know where you want to place the solar panel you cannot start by placing it there and then unwinding out the light string. Instead you have to first unwind the entire string of lights by simultaneously rewinding in reverse order onto another makeshift spool. This requires perhaps 6-8 minutes once you get your system worked out. After this reverse winding step is accomplished then you can then place the solar panel in your desired location and start to position your lights. Other than this nusiance, the lights do work just fine.
