Cutting mat holds up well

I've done about a dozen cutting projects on this mat since I bought it and it's holding up great. B. Denim, until the carpet has "healed" perfectly. I don't see a single scratch on it. I've read other reviews about scar issues on the carpet. I have no idea what other mat cutters use or what printing they use but I used the mat as intended and it looks exactly as it came out of the box. It smells when you unpack it. I personally describe the smell as "the typical smell of plastic made in China". I noticed the same smell on my iPad cases, phone cases, etc. For example, I don't think the smell is objectionable. It is present and disappears fairly quickly when objects are exposed to air. These are not roses, but they are not poisonous. While I didn't sniff the carpet every day to make sure the smell was still there, I can say I stopped noticing the smell after a few days of entering the room and moving the carpet. Store horizontally. I usually leave it on my desk unless I need room for a sewing machine or laptop, and then I just tuck it under the bookshelf in the room. It arrived in perfect condition and works as it should. The carpet corresponds to the photos and the description. I couldn't ask for more!

Pros
  • SELF-HEALING DESIGN: The self-healing material automatically reseals after cutting, allowing for unlimited use while extending the life of any blades used on it. Ideal as a cutting board with rotating or straight blades.
Cons
  • So far so good
