Very bright orange, mustard and olive colors are available. It just goes with some of my other stuff so it's great but definitely not pastel. I've already washed it on the gentle cycle with wool and then air dried it and it has held up great. I get tons of compliments on it. I'm thinking of pastels as colors for a person wearing summer or spring colors, which is more like fall or really warm spring, if that makes sense to you. It is beautiful and I think any other scarf would be just as well done.
