Review on 📱 WixGear Magnetic Phone Mount: Fast Swift-snap Technology for Universal Stick On Dashboard Car Mount Holder by Darian Massey

A few notes before we get to the review: 1) We have placed our metal plates under the center of our phones where the wireless charging/in-car antenna is located. As a result, the center of gravity of the phone is over the magnetic mount, causing our phones to rotate on the smaller round mounts. 3) I replaced my small round mount with a larger rectangular WizGear mount. 4) I will provide links to the round mounts and the larger mount at the end of this review. Let's get to the rating. We installed this mount on my wife's car to use with her Pixel 3 XL. She needed a little more clearance, and a lever that goes up about an inch made a big difference to what she needed. Installation is very simple and straightforward. Took me about two minutes from start to finish. The part that took the most time was tilting the mount and positioning it so she could get a good view of her phone. If anything, she would have preferred a slightly higher hand. We know WizGear offers a larger suction cup mount, but we wanted to stick with adhesive mounts due to the cleaner look and less chance of the mount detaching anywhere. (We've tried suction cup mounts before, but they fell off on us on hot summer days when car temperatures can reach over 120°F.) The magnets on this mount felt VERY strong. They are MUCH, MUCH stronger than the smaller round bracket I used to put on my car. In fact, I'm pretty sure they're a bit stronger than the magnets on my newly installed large mount (which I replaced the small round mount with). We waited a few hours for the glue to set. a bit before you strain it. Then we hit the road, intentionally taking the bumpy road and making a few sharp turns to try and get the phone spinning on the mount. It stayed where it was, just as I had hoped. The only reason I gave this mount four stars instead of five is because the raised arm is shorter than intended. The only place we were able to fit this mount on my wife's car was just above the infotainment screen. Where there is a metal plate on your phone's body (just below center), the phone partially obscures part of the infotainment screen. Now it's not a big deal as the locked part of the screen doesn't show any important information, but it's still a minor inconvenience. If the mount were about 2 inches tall, that would give enough room for the phone to completely clear the infotainment screen and provide a clean magnetic solution for almost any phone in any area of the dash. As such, this is a fantastic mount for the money. and I highly recommend it. However, I wish the arm was a bit higher.
