Doesn't meet my needs

I bought it for work (fiberglass tank factory) and I needed something LOUD. I tested it in my bedroom and thought it would work. I tried it out at work today, but even at max volume I couldn't hear it over saws, grinders, and forklifts unless I was standing right next to it. It's so big that it doesn't fit in the room. the lockers we use at work and at 24 pounds I don't feel like lugging it out of the factory every day. Also, it doesn't read flash drives. The only USB port is for charging devices only. This really disappointed me as it was the main reason I bought this device: I read that it can play music from a USB stick. I can't use Bluetooth as it's strictly forbidden to use our phones at work. I ended up using the MP3 player I use at the gym, which brings me to my next point. If you are using an MP3 player as a source, you can only skip and pause tracks using the controls on your MP3 player. The buttons on the front of the radio have no effect. It's a shame because the sound quality is actually very good, the speaker placement is a brilliant idea and the volume is high enough for almost any other application, but if you're working with power tools or around heavy equipment this thing is just that Correct does not fit. Even if you have to take your MP3 player out of its protective case to use it, it defeats the purpose as you end up exposing the device to dust, dirt and the elements. Being able to read from a USB stick and play/pause and skip tracks with buttons would make a lot more sense. There is potential. Hopefully Bosch will read this and incorporate the changes into a later model. I would definitely buy this. Unfortunately, this current model is making a return.
