Review on Adidas Solar Glide Royal White Men's Shoes and Athletic by Bryan Murphy

Top quality good for me

Have been using Adidas shoes in many variations for many years. the original Supernova Glide was the best all-rounder for me. Adidas changed that a while ago and introduced new options. for me this is the worst of their designs as a sneaker and seems much more geared towards casual street shoes for free time. This shoe has far less cushioning/boost, particularly in the forefoot, than previous models, which is a good thing. Thing for a speedrunner, but it's not designed for that. My biggest problem is the fit. For as long as I can remember, I've worn Adidas running size 45 2/3. However, they appear wider in the forefoot, leading to lateral movement, especially when changing direction. They are about half a centimeter longer than expected from the regular size. but the heel hold is the worst. too loose even with the laces holding the ankle down and they just don't feel deep enough in the ankle. as if you were not quite "in” your shoes. It should also be noted that the upper of the shoe is not particularly breathable, which means that feet get hot very quickly. something I've never experienced in Adidas shoes before. I have a pair of Supernova Glides in a Goretex redesign for wet and/or cold weather, and even they aren't nearly as stuffy as these. Such a shame as always, they are well done. The Continental outsole is excellent as always. Never understood the policy of many companies to invent the wheel. of course we can make improvements. but this is such a radical change in what a great shoe was and should be. if not broken. then don't try to fix it. Just change the color every year. So. to the stores with a new pair of sneakers. expensive.

Pros
  • Good product
Cons
  • These are women's shoes although they are advertised as men's shoes. The shoe tag says $10 and €42 1/2; while males 10 cost 44 euros in the US.
