This is a beautiful hat. I usually prefer cotton and wool as I have a bad habit of leaving my hats in the pub in winter, but as I'm a big fan of cashmere and have never owned a cashmere hat I decided to take a chance. Thereon. The hat is quite tight, especially when worn with the ends up. My head is slightly larger than average and I find it comfortable but not uncomfortable. When worn inside out, it fits perfectly, snug enough to stay in place but loose enough that I didn't pinch. However, I can't say that I notice the softness of cashmere compared to a regular wool hat. If it was stockinette knit I might have noticed the quality a little better, but the wide ribs make it a bit difficult to tell cashmere from other wools. I would still recommend her. It looks great, fits well, is comfortable in and comes into its own when the temperature drops.
