This is an improvement over traditional neck fans. It actually works better than my old neck fan as it has a few extra holes to blow a wider throat area. It doesn't work wonders to keep you cool on long walks in very hot summer weather, but it does help keep sweat from running down your face and neck. It's a little louder than what the seller said, but not very loud. The weight is not particularly noticeable on my neck. The only downside is that it sometimes catches the hair. I have very long hair that I wear in a braid or ponytail in the summer, but there are always shorter hair that can't be tied back. For example, today I wore a neck fan for about two hours and twice it got caught in my hair.
