My 4 year old who goes to school in the fresh air all the time and comes home every day is disgusting but these pants were the ultimate protection! I never washed them, just dried them in the garage. After 12 months of almost daily use, mold appeared inside. In defence: I never washed them for fear they might lose their waterproofing or damage the stitching, and in the summer it got pretty stuffy in the garage. But the siblings got Reima pants that didn't pill. However, it was a great purchase and they never broke! With daily, intensive use! I will be buying this brand again for my 9 year old as Reima doesn't make pants with suspenders for 9 year olds (why not?) and doesn't keep them in the garage in the summer.
