Went to Washington State for a 12 day trip. I knew I needed something versatile. This coat worked great. Was only able to wear the liner outdoors for a short time on dry days. The outer shell did its job in warm, rainy weather. When spending more time outdoors or in cooler places, the lined coat met my needs perfectly. I personally wear a fanny pack, so it is very convenient for me to open the lining and place the fanny pack between the lining and the outer jacket. The only downside I found was the velcro closure. It would stick to the lining or any scarf I was wearing, forming hooks in the scarf. For skiers or other outdoor activities where you don't want to constantly take your gloves/mittens off, I can see where velcro would be ideal. Snaps would be more appropriate for my purposes. However, it is a good jacket and I am happy with my purchase!
