Revainrating 4 out of 5

Canon MP600 is a great little printer, fairly economical on ink

I like the fact that Canon uses a 5 cartridge system: cyan, yellow and magenta, with two blacks - a smaller tank, which seem to deliver black in full color prints, and those big reservoirs that deliver color in mostly black and white and greyscale prints. Compared to other inkjet printers I've owned, there is quite a bit of time between ink cartridge replacements. And Canon ink is not that expensive. Canon charges a fair price for the printer and a fair price for the ink, unlike some of its competitors who give away printers and charge a fortune for the ink. So why 4 stars? Well, it's still pretty expensive (they still know they have a monopoly - stocking up and stocking tokens isn't an option; they look awful - and the price could probably be a little lower). And while Canon inks tend to be fairly cheap compared to other inks and last a long time, it would be nice if they lasted a bit longer. But in general it is very pleasant - 2 of these two packages last me about a year.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Great price
