Pros: Great 5 gallon aquarium, very solid. The included HOB filter is fine. You can make small changes to the filter thread and biomaterial to improve its performance. The lid is a simple rectangular piece of glass that sits on top of two plastic tabs. It has enough space for a HOB filter and other items like a light clip (sold separately). Cons: I wish the glass lid had a more defined fit with two rounded corners to fit snugly in the front, but that's a minor complaint. The biggest scam was how this product was shipped. They put extremely strong tape on the filter box and taped it to the bottom of the aquarium inside. It took me about 40 minutes to scrape it off the glass. I chose not to use any chemicals to remove it which would not have been necessary if they had shown some courtesy with the transit procedures. That was not necessary. The box was small and could in no way damage the glass during transport. But crushing an adhesive plaster with the power of 1000 gods can damage the glass. I still feel like there is some glue residue left under the gravel at the bottom. Overall the product is good, the shipping process is a disaster. I recommend a sponge filter along with this HOB filter. You have to buy your own light and heater. Good for a roast if done right.
