I got this as a much cheaper option, back then it was sold as an add on kit to mirror my phone screen to my new car audio screen. I also needed an HDMI to USB-C cable to fit my phone's jack. I connected this to my video jack on the radio using a Y splitter as I also have a rear view camera which I also installed. The video quality is not as clear as on the phone (the quality is reduced to fit the screen resolution). on the radio), but acceptable. Now I can display a mirrored map from my phone on a stereo screen, which makes it easier to see and saves me from buying a more expensive radio with built-in navigation (and paying for map updates). I was able to hide this behind the dashboard so only the USB cable needed to connect to my phone is visible. I also connected a 12V USB plug and tucked it behind the dash so you can't see that wire either.
