After the spikes, the rubber is just excellent, primarily in terms of ride comfort: very quiet and soft. In terms of handling on winter surfaces, I also liked everything. On bare ice, Velcro is certainly inferior to spikes, but if you drive slowly and carefully, then you can normally drive on ice, tested on morning ice.
