I've owned this monitor since July 2015 and have had very few issues with it. I bought a dual camera parent unit as I have two kids in different rooms. I have very few complaints about the cameras or the parent unit. The sound quality is excellent, with many settings. Even the quietest setting is still loud enough to hear while you sleep. The cameras in the rooms pick up even the slightest sounds (e.g. when a baby snores in its sleep or even turns over!). The parent unit gives you two options when using multiple cameras: a screen within a screen that offers visualization of both rooms (or regardless of how many cameras are used), but audio in only one room. Another option is a video and audio loop between rooms, which I estimate happens about every seven seconds. In the year I've owned it, the 7 second cycle has never been an issue. Both Infrared and Normal give a pretty clear picture when you need to see your baby, but I usually turn the video off at night unless I'm checking on my baby. There are multiple brightness settings if you use it near your bed at night so the video image doesn't disturb your sleep. The parent unit also allows you to select lullabies for the baby's room, but you'll also hear them on the parent monitor. Both cameras can be wall mounted to allow a full view of the crib/bed. The power cords for cameras and parent units are long enough to reach the nearest outlet or even a little further. The cameras are equipped with temperature sensors, so you can tell how warm it is in the room (and you can choose between Celsius and Fahrenheit). If the room is too warm, the temperature is displayed in red instead of blue. There is a built-in microphone so you can talk to your child in their room. This sound only goes to the selected camera, not to another child's room. This is very helpful in the transition to a crib if you have a little escape artist on hand. I appreciate that the camera doesn't require a wireless connection through your home Wi-Fi system. The signal only goes through the parent unit and the cameras. The battery life of the parent unit is quite long when not connected. I use it while sleeping and then hours when my kids are sleeping until I go to bed (I always plug it in at night), everything is offline. Overall, the battery typically lasts about five hours when cycling between two rooms. The picture turns off after five minutes if the parent unit is unplugged, but you can turn it back on when you need to check on the kids. When the battery is almost empty, the parent unit will beep to alert you. This signal does not extend to cameras. If you ever lose the signal, the parent unit will also beep. The sound remains the same when the video image is turned off. The monitor's range is strong enough to work anywhere in your home, but not too far when you leave home. But sitting on the patio/porch in spring/summer when the kids go to bed is fine. I've had a few instances of the monitor turning off or not turning on at night, but this has happened about 3 times since I bought the unit. I put it down to a very, very rare accident. Overall, I am very satisfied with this mentoring system. In fact, I'm so glad I'll be buying a third camera to pair with the device when my next baby is born.
