Review on ⌚ Casio G-Shock Digital Men's Watch DW5900 with Water Resistance in Black Dial by Belinda Phelps

I have a 15 year old G-Shock that still works great. I only bought this because I needed some daily alarms at work so I wanted more as I had a lot of experience with G-Shock. Not this one. Several alarm clocks work great with the usual excellent G-Shock quality. This is one of the bigger/thicker G-Shocks if that's important to you. (My other G-Shock is the same, so I'm used to it.) However, sometimes these larger models can break the strap pins if pulled too tight on the wrist and excessively bend the wrist back toward the face, especially if it's typically worn externally . Even if they are loose on the wrist they tend to fall off your hand more and then if you press something hard (wrist back) the pins will pop out. Luckily the pins fail, but I've never had a pin hole that's prying out the pages. This is the main weakness of the entire G-Shock series. It helps to use a smaller G-Shock model. I usually wear the G-Shock on the inside of my wrist as the forward position allows far less stress to be transferred to the watch strap. back in a state of wrist tension. Maybe that's enough to pry out the pin holes in the watch itself. The biggest issue I had with this new watch was that it seemed to have too much space on the face for 3 status dials at the top. They made them so large that the time and date are much smaller and flatter than other models. Eye problems or eye aging. In fact, I'm not sure I would have liked it when I was young either. I want to see the time on the clock at a glance. This model is difficult to see in daylight but barely legible at night with blue light. The light glow comes from the perimeter of the watch and not from underneath the watch or directly on the watch. You have to look at it from different angles and move it. Definitely not the time at first glance. I'm also not a fan of the date field. I was expecting to have the normal "min/day/year" format. As long as you set it in this normal format, the display mode is "Day of the Week/Date" (e.g. Tuesday 14th - "Tue 14"). There doesn't seem to be a way to display normally. But as I said, they filled the size of the time/date field, so maybe they didn't have any free space left. This is the fourth G-Shock I've had in my entire life. Lost one, broken another, last one left, all with 10+ years of service with no failures (except bracelets) Everything met and exceeded my expectations except this one. I wish I had seen this model in person before buying it. I would not recommend this SPECIFIC model. For that kind of money you can find a more functional G-Shock model.
