Shower hose fully assembled and there was a female thread on the wall. I think it should be male as there are no hoses with male thread connectors, only female threads. So I bought this device. It works as intended! It's a bit strange, once I taped the block to the wall by the threads, when I tried to remove the block, the threads stayed in the socket in the wall! So the apparatus actually consists of two parts! There is a small rubber seal between the two parts. So to remove the threaded part I had to wrap the pliers in paper towels to avoid damaging the threads because that was all I could grab. I cut some metal threads to turn it inside out, but it worked when I put it back together without the tape (luckily!). So that. I couldn't use teflon tape, but I don't think this type of connection needs it. . I used tape so I couldn't get the shower hose connector straight up and down and it was leaking! That way I removed all traces of tape from the threads and was able to line up the shower hose hole and there were no leaks. Voila.
