This is a decent little scratching post for your cats, consisting of carpet around the edges and a hard fiber in the middle for extra scratching. , and a fluffy little ball on the edge of the feather. The kit also includes four screw-on suction cups if you wish to place the item on linoleum or another smooth surface. You may want to consider installing suction cups even if you are placing this item in a carpeted room as this scratcher is very light and would slide all over the carpet when my cats used it which seemed to frustrate them a little . Finally, good scratching requires a good stationary surface. But when I put the suction cups on, the pad didn't move that much on the carpet. Perhaps because of its rather small size, my cats use it a little but not much. They will use it a little more often with some catnip, but still not as often as their other scratching post or scratching post. Perhaps this product is more suitable for kittens due to its compact size. Finally, this is a good product and your cats may respond to it better than my cats.
