If I wanted to let off steam I would open the container. I make hot oatmeal to take to work and my god the steam thing is so annoying. It will leak water if you just throw it in your bag and turn it upside down. Will you blow off steam? Aha! Water and sauces too! Even closed and 100% fully deployed. Small round lick EVERYWHERE. I wouldn't have bought them if I didn't have to. I prefer another popular tool brand. If I didn't have money for them, I would buy them. Now my mom doesn't have watery foods like im eating and she loves them. They take their insults well. She wants more for guests who bring home made food, they can take them instead of our best. I think it just depends on your needs whether you like them or not.
