My experience sizing these compression stockings may be helpful

This is the second pair of compression stockings I have ordered from this brand. The first pair was XXL based on my calf size: 18 for one calf, 19 for the other and 10 inches at the ankle. As the XL shin size is no more than 16 inches and given what the size chart says it seemed best to go up a size although my ankle is more of an XL fit. As with many other reviewers, the foot area was quite loose, the ankle and calf area seemed to have some slight compression. I wore them all day and they really helped with the swelling in my feet and ankles but I felt like I wasn't getting the full effect on my feet and ankles which are my main problem areas. Given the density of the fabric and the stretch, I decided to take a chance and go down a size by ordering them an XL and found they fit perfectly. They offer good compression without constricting the calf or knee. The ankle fits well and the foot is better for the most part, albeit still a little looser than I would like but without the creases of the fabric like the XXL size. In general I am very satisfied. It's been many years since I could drive in a car for over an hour or so without my feet getting swollen and I usually try to rest them on the dashboard. The day they arrived I put them on straight away and spent almost 5 hours in the car with no swelling and two days later I came back with the same results. I'm definitely a fan.
