I was able to replace this cable with a standard power supply. I suspect HP anticipated this because the plug sheared off in the corner on the socket's handle at right angles to the cord coming out of the socket in the insert. Because the height of the plug in the outlet is shorter than other models of this plug, the rear of the printer can be placed away from a shelf or cabinet. That helped. Good airflow on top, bottom and sides, but now the back of the printer is flush with the back of the case. The front of the laser printer is 2mm away from the door, so there is no touching or collision and no interfering functions. Now you can close the glass front door and the printer will work. All you have to do is open the door to manually feed paper or labels through the bypass port. This reduced the gap by about 2 inches and allowed me to use a more attractive and functional cabinet to house the printer. For less than $10 I saved hundreds of dollars and got rid of the hassle of buying a new closet.
