Everything works great out of the box. We really liked this corkscrew, it looks beautiful, holds a load and does its job very well. Unfortunately, after about 11 months of use, the plastic part that holds the metal screw broke, so we're going to buy another one now. Not bad for $23 but thought it would last longer.
