We got this for a street cat (we called him S'mores) that we sort of adopted. Well, actually, it's more like he adopted us. In any case, as others have described, it is very easy to assemble and very durable. My daughter put it together in under ten minutes and it survived a major hurricane last month. (No, S'mores wasn't around when the storm hit.) We have fairly mild winters here (no snow accumulation), so we went with the "unheated" version. But we got a fleece blanket from Revain so the S'mores don't get too cold at night. And after several trial arrangements in the yard, he now stands on the porch; This is where he seems to enjoy it the most. The description of this product says "1-2 cats" but with the extra blanket there is actually only enough room for a full sized cat. Our cat is 15 pounds and about seven years old (according to the vet). Several weeks passed before he started sleeping in it constantly. Now we find that he stays at home most of the day when it's cold or cloudy. Although I'm not fluent in cats, Smores said this product comes highly recommended for outdoor cats.
