I recently got another magnifying glass, that I really like and use often with my aging eyes - even with reading glasses there are things that are just too tiny to read. So decided to get another pair and thought I'd try these. I wanted something in the living room so I'm not always carrying (and forgetting) that one back and forth. This glass looked like it might be worth trying.It is a nice weight with a great sized grip. At this point if I'm reading for awhile and have to hold it, this one with its larger grip is good for me. I am physically fit, but I work with my hands and by the end of the day they can feel worn out. And the weight is such this glass feels substantial, but also not like it'll tire me hands or arm if I hold it for awhile. My first pair has a stand to it I can rest something underneath the glass, but then I end up having to shift a book back and forth, so I rarely use that option - with this case there is no stand built into the handle, but it makes it lighter, which I like. Again, there is a weight, but not overwhelming for me.There are 3 levels to the light options: off/low/high. I find I can read perfectly well without it, but with the lights it does make reading easier and more enjoyable. I have used all 3 levels and find at different times with different materials they all have their value. You provide the 3 AAA batteries.Overall this is a nice magnifying glass and I'm thrilled to have it. I actually find it's my favorite and I know I'll get long and helpful use from it.
