Store Lids - Safety and Survival

I love these for storage. Like the detachable lens cap, this is another thing to think about before installing that next mag, but I'm not into combat. They protect the magazines from debris, and several online reviews note that they depress the top round slightly, which is said to help the magazine edges pop out during storage/non-use, thus wearing out the magazine. However, be careful. A: The new dust covers will not work with non-Magpul magazines and may not fit M2 or earlier. Some caps work on both M2 and M3, some don't. So if you have an M2 make sure you have the ones designed for it to avoid potential problems. But both versions work on M3 (which is my preference). For the price, this is an inexpensive way to protect your journals and other than duty or combat, it's fine. I used a colored pen (local art store) to write the caliber on these (.223, 5.56, .300) and they work with .300 BLK (Blackout or Whisper) cartridges in stores. I recommend them for storage and off-duty/non-combat use and with one caveat when being unmagazined, even for official or combat use.
