I am a reporter for a small town newspaper. Paper doesn't provide us with a lot of equipment - we work in a print shop so our margins are pretty low - so I don't get a lot of "toys". When I was hired and I wanted to record a phone interview, I had to either type as quickly as possible and hope my notes were good, or conduct the interview using the speakerphone in the conference room. Aside from the poor acoustics, it wasn't very private. Until recently, I didn't even know that something like this was possible. When I ordered mine, I also ordered a second one for another reporter in the Bull Room. When they arrived I installed both in less than 10 minutes. Works like a charm and records both sides of the conversation. It's nice that he doesn't seem to notice the ambient noise in the newsroom, which is pretty consistently loud.
