Just received today so can't vouch for durability but seems to work fine. Just slightly larger in diameter. The most critical review said the polarity should not be reversed, but I decided to take a risk as I wanted to place in the top jack without blocking the bottom jack. Not sure what the previous reviewer did to fry them, but the light works no matter how it's plugged in. This makes it more versatile and provides access to the bottom or top outlet. Fairly bright, too bright for a bedroom or an adjoining bedroom when viewed from the bed, but ideal for illuminating stairs in a multi-storey house or other areas that do not disturb your sleep. I would suggest it's too bright for most (especially adults) to use as a night light.
