I bought one for my Standard Top Knot Poodles. The rat glides through her hair at the crown without holding or hanging. I bought a second one so I can have it in a few spots around the house so I don't have to look for it in the morning or from the other side of the house. I have arthritic hands, especially in the mornings, and while it's small, it's still pretty easy to hold. The case is good, protects it and is easier to find/pick up. The rat tail is very thin and runs through the end of the felt sleeve. I think I use a cover to protect the rat's tail and maybe it's more meant to protect the comb's teeth.
