Review on Armen Living LCRABAARKACH26 Barstool Chestnut by Debbie Jones

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not bad: Furniture

I've been looking for a nice bar stool with armrests for a long time. I was looking for something stylish, high quality and original, not something ordinary. There isn't much. I figured that at least Restoration Hardware would have some good options (even if it was a million bucks), but no. I found some good models from the Montana company, but they were expensive. I ended up going for this chair because while it's not my dream, it looked pretty well made/beautiful and not overly ordinary. The chair arrived perfectly packaged and assembly was easy (which tells me something). Overall, the chair is exactly what I expected. It looks good, it's pretty comfortable, it's durable and pretty high quality. In view of the price one can only be happy about that. As for me, I'd be willing to pay extra for a chair that's a little more unique and stylish, but then again when I looked (and I looked closely) I didn't find much on the market. The Montana chairs came close, but they didn't turn me on enough to make it worth spending the extra 200 bones (or shells or smuckers or whatever you want to call them). All in all it was a fair deal to get a very well made, high quality bar stool with armrests that looks pretty good, for $270, especially given the lack of competition. Also, the chair has a nice metal on the lower legs when you relax. . I thought it was a nice touch. I've just looked at the pictures here and they don't show this metal so it must be an addition or something. The metal has a golden copper tone and looks very nice with the color of the wood.

Pros
  • Hard wearing finish
Cons
  • Damaged
