I have this product on three beds in my home. I bought them for my cribs and they've been around ever since. These products have been used on mattresses twice for 6 years and last for 3 years. Two of the beds were used by visiting adult guests and they didn't even realize they were on the bed. Pros: 1.) The mattress and foam topper stay dry 2.) They wash easily when needed 3.) They sleep comfortably on them, unlike old vinyl covers (assuming the sheets are on top) 4.) They don't no hot sleep 5.) They don't make any noise when changing position or rolling. Disadvantages: 1.) Long term (several days) exposure to liquid can lead to failure. I will say that I do not dry them, although the manufacturer says that everything should be fine. I only air dry them after washing. They usually dry up within a day. We had a little hiccup but I think it was due to an accident that went unnoticed as we left early in the morning (and my son didn't say anything) and stayed a few days before coming back. We have never had a crash when the crash was fixed the next morning. Overall I am very satisfied with this product and its performance.
