After a long struggle I was FINALLY able to remove the screen cover but it was VERY difficult because the plastic is very hard and tough. I started with a small indentation in one corner and just kept working around the perimeter, which was easier said than done. I was afraid I would break it and/or rip my nails off so I was very careful while working. Now that the tablet is in place and everything re-soldered I think this is a GREAT case. It fits perfectly and feels good in my hands. At my husband's request I will add some transparent rubber dots. The back is pretty smooth, and he's afraid it might slide off the slightly inclined surface (wooden chair back) he usually puts it on. The back of this case is made of hard plastic, unlike a similar phone case that has a slightly rubbery, sticky backing. Those two minor issues aside, this is a stunning, beautiful, no-frills case that seems to do exactly what it's supposed to do protecting the tablet inside.
