They came tightly shrink wrapped. As soon as I removed the plastic wrap, I was greeted by a familiar smell that shouldn't be associated with pearls! They smelled like a nail salon! Or rather, they smelled like someone had just sprayed nail polish over the string of pearls - wow! So I decided not to remove the plastic wrap to try and "ventilate" the smell. I found the end of a bead spool and wanted to secure it in place, so I used my trusty blue (high quality, expensive version) nonstick tape to secure the beads in place. I believe, I didn't use painters tape very well to keep the beads on my own spool. Because you don't know. the damn masking tape that came off the blue beads too - here, took the blue off those cheap stinky beads! Using painter's tape which doesn't remove the paint it's so EASY to remove the "stain" from those new beads, can you imagine how cheap these things are? I previously purchased similar pink thread/wire beads from another seller. from Amazon which were great, didn't stink and the color didn't come off because I used the same artist paint on the product. Needless to say, I will be asking Amazon for a refund for this poor quality product. Can you imagine these new pearls how cheap are they?
