I am about 165 years old and I usually sit cross-legged on a pillow (now only about 20 cm high; this is mainly to keep the pillow from getting dirty) and it does just what you need. It's adjustable, yes, and goes pretty low if you want, and takes all my weight well, even if my feet aren't on the ground at all. It opens and adjusts easily, but stays in place when you're on it. Of course you need something to wear to be really comfortable, but it has to be portable. Putting some padding on it will only make it smaller so you can't take your glasses off there. Short version, worth it.
