Sturdy but with less overall coverage than other models

I've been using these shoes in the backcountry for a number of years and have decided to replace them with a pair that are 1) lighter and 2) offer full foot coverage. The main issue I have is that the socks are not protected despite their durability. This is a real minus. I prefer El-Cheapo traction lugs when running around town on snow and ice. In my experience they offer better grip than these partial crampons. If you want real cats, Petzl makes great full-footed cats. I would recommend that you get them.
