I used these to replace the 1156 incandescent reverse lights on my '95 Saturn SC2. While the base of the bulb is a match for an 1156, the bulb design itself is not as slim as a standard bulb. The reverse light sockets have a bit of plastic that I had to cut away in order for the bulb to drop in far enough to twist and lock in place. This would not have been an issue if the bulb was slimmer or more tapered like the stock bulbs. Once installed, they light up great! No more trouble seeing behind the car when backing up at night.
